‘A Smooth Journey’ is the second album that Edgar Van Asselt invited tenor saxophonist David Schnitter for. Belgium trumpeter Nico Schepers is extending the line-up into a quintet on some of the tracks. The rhythm section, consisting of Frans van Geest and Joost van Schaik is hard swinging and supportive.
